Burlington introduces ReGenesis™ – a new level of sustainability for the outdoor enthusiast

Burlington is introducing sustainable fabrics called ReGenesis™ which is a renewable fabric collection for the eco-conscious outdoor enthusiast.

Mr Nelson Bebo, vice president technical sales development for Burlington says, “We love the outdoors and we believe repurposing waste is a way for us to do our part to make sure future generations have as many or more opportunities as we do for a healthy environment. Going forward every new development in our Enthusiast Collection of performance fabrics will have at least 30 percent recycled content. Our commitment is to push the limits for our customers, creating fabrics that use new sustainable content and are produced in eco-friendly facilities focused on reducing our environmental footprint and impact.”

The eco-conscious fabrics from ReGenesis collection are made from recycled content. New sustainability partners Eco Circle™ and Seaqual™ are added to long-standing sustainability partners REPREVE® and THREAD™ to offer customers a broad range of renewable materials.

The Teijin powered Eco Circle™ fibers use closed loop recycling system to give new life to obsolete polyester based garments. The process separates and eliminates additives as well as colorants and purifies the recycled polyester to original quality and function. The Seaqual™ fibers are made 100% post-consumer plastic bottles and waste which is reclaimed from the sea. It creates yarns that contain 93-95% recycled PET and 3-7% ocean plastics.

Mr Nelson Bebo further added, “We are excited by new partners and finding ways to help our customers reach new heights of sustainable offerings. We are currently working with our sister company, American & Efird, to promote ReGenesis shirtings, a soon-to-be-launched sustainable concept from fabric to thread that uses a combination of Burlington’s ReGenesis fabric with A&E’s recycled performance sewing thread featuring REPREVE® to create the next evolution in full sustainable shirting”.
