Cotton exports grew by 32.66% in 11 months

Raw cotton exports of Pakistan during 11 months of current fiscal year have grown by 32.66% compared to the exports of corresponding year.

According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics latest data in 2017-18 during the period from May-June, Pakistan exports of raw cotton were 34,969 metric tons earning US$ 57.541 million. Textile exports have increased in these 11 months by 9.82% worth US$ 12.336 billion compared to the exports of US$ 11.232 billion during the same period last year.

475,550 cotton yarn metric tons, worth US$ 1.247 billion were exported during last 11 months of current fiscal year compared to the exports of 414,430 metric tons of cotton yarn valuing US$ 1.134 billion of last year. Cotton cloth of 1,996,488 thousand square meters worth US$ 2.015 billion was exported against the exports of same period last year 1,887,519 thousand square meters valuing US$ 1.980 billion.

Yarn exports other than cotton increased by 38.1% and 10,670 metric tons worth US$ 30.273 million were exported as compared the exports of same period of last year 8,115 metric tons valuing US$ 21.935 million.

Knitwear exports grew by 16.81% percent and reached US$ 2.480 billion, bed wear exports increased by 6.65% and reached US$ 2.55 billion, readymade garment exports were worth US$ 2.345 billion and 189,783 metric tons of towels worth US$ 736.924 million were also exported.
