Kraig Labs deploys new spider silk DNA synthesis methodology

The new spider silk DNA synthesis methodology by Kraig Biocraft is said to allow faster, larger and more complex creation of spider silk proteins. These proteins produce improved silk strength, elasticity and toughness which will allow the company to target an expanded set of end market applications.

Mr Jon Rice, COO Kraig Biocraft said, “Thanks to our lab and production teams’ considerable collaborative effort, this new methodology has already demonstrated the potential to significantly reduce our development timelines. To see it put into practice so quickly and to have already completed the first 2,500 test microinjections is very impressive. I look forward to seeing this capability enable the next generation of recombinant spider silk fibers.”

The company has further added two laboratory staff for increased efficiency and results. The company looks forward to creating new transgenic with the new hiring at Kraig labs headquarters, with abridged development cycle and enhanced material performance.
