Pests attack cotton crop in Multan

In South Punjab the cotton crop has entered a critical stage as sucking and chewing pests have attacked the harvest. In most of the fields, thrips, bollworm and whitefly have damaged the crops inflicting losses of millions of rupees. These pests need to be controlled as soon as possible so that cotton crop can be save from considerable loss during the final yield. Teams from the agriculture department have been scouting the fields on daily basis. To save the crop from pink bollworms the rosette flowers should be plucked and destroyed as soon as possible.
