In an interview, according to Mr Sanjay Lalbhai, chairman and managing director Arvind Ltd., textile companies in India will benefit if US imposes tariffs on Chinese goods in results of the US, China trade war.
To meet the textile demands of America, Indian textile companies will have to operate on full capacity and explore other options which include outsourcing or working with distressed assets.
In the textile world trade China commands 35% market share which is amounted around $850 billion. Mr Donald Trump, President of the United States of America has proposed tariffs on goods imported from China including textile products. Mr Sanjay Lalbhai further adds, “The benefit could accrue right away if the tariffs were to be imposed.”
