Alsico, a specialist in workwear with more than 80 years’ experience, has added YuniquePLM Cloud by Gerber Technology to its host of Gerber’s Digital Solutions enabling them to pass data between systems and move from concept to production with greater efficiency.
“We chose YuniquePLM Cloud to help reduce complexity and enhance the digitisation of our workflow,” said Vincent Siau, Alsico Northern Europe CEO. “We recognised the expertise Gerber and their team could bring in digitising our processes to meet the needs of our customers. This will help us to enhance our quality, reduce errors, and reduce our environmental impact, which eventually will contribute to perfecting our performance based approach and circular solutions.”
Alsico aims to produce quality clothing in an environmentally conscious manner, enforcing sustainability and basic corporate responsibility. Alsico styles and creates the clothing design, as well as produces it, in its production workshops. The company focuses on customer service and quality and is ISO 9001 certified. In addition to workwear, it also produces high technology reusable cleanroom and clean area garments.
Alsico is also utilising Gerber’s automation systems including the GERBERcutter and GERBER-spreader to further optimise its production.
“Alsico realises our leadership in the work wear segment of the market with the digitally integrated solutions we provide,” said Bill Brewster, Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Software Solutions at Gerber. “Our goal is to be a trusted guide for our customers as they go through their digital transformation by making our products easy to try, easy to buy and easy to consume.” The YuniquePLM product lifecycle management software serves as a central repository of critical data, and is designed to eliminate problems companies often face when using multiple excel spreadsheets, email or tracking documents to communicate throughout the stages of product development and management. YuniquePLM connects a company’s creative process with its supply chain and production processes.
Gerber’s Digital Solutions
Gerber’s Digital Solutions include the newest releases of YuniquePLM product lifecycle management software, as well as the AccuMark pattern design, grading, marker making and production planning software, AccuMark 3D and AccuPlan. The Digital Solutions architecture uses common file structures. Data can easily be passed to the cut room where smart machines, like the GERBERspreader XLs series and Gerber Paragon line of multi-ply GERBERcutters, can process the order with a simple barcode scan.
“A closed-loop, end-to-end digital solution like Gerber’s, that integrates software and smart machines, allows companies to automate their entire process and streamline data and workflow necessary to provide insight, maximise throughput, minimise errors and reduce labour costs to be competitive in mass production environments,” the company explains.
