Much importance has been given to hand washing, social distancing, and the utilization of facemasks during recent pandemic to reduce microbes’ transmission. Similarly, our denim and garments could also become a source of infection transmission as these microbes can survive on textile substrates for a long time. So far, little consideration has been paid to these garments. To tackle this issue, CHT Group has introduced a range of its functional finishes.
The novel finish for garments named HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03 has antiviral and bacteriostatic properties. The finish is water-miscible, cationic in nature, and suitable for both the exhaust & padding process.
For the development of hydrophilic denim, the CHT group has suggested DENIMCOL iSys VRK and DENIMCOL SPEC-zeroF 4 with a combination of iSys AG (bacteriostatic finish) for a long-lasting antimicrobial effect and freshness.
For water repellent denim, DENIMCOL SPEC-zeroF 4 and iSys AG has been recommended with permanent effects. The finished product could be more durable as less washing is required. Furthermore, this could reduce transmission significantly. These novel finishes are also a part of ZDHC goals favoring sustainability.
