C2C by CHT Recyclable dyes, pigments, and auxiliaries for the textile industry

Sustainability and the circular economy are key issues that pose great challenges for the textile industry. Today’s consumers seek more than just high quality in what they buy – they also demand recyclability as well as manufacturing operations that conserve resources and guarantee fair and healthful working conditions. Certifications and standards can help distinguish sustainable products; they separate the wheat from the chaff. However, the abundance of certifications and standards can make things convoluted. Manufacturers can foster responsible textile production with a focus on recyclable textiles by using products awarded with a C2C Certified Material Health CertificateTM by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.

About Cradle to Cradle
The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute established Cradle to Cradle Certified® as a global standard for certifying the material health, circularity, and environmental and social responsibility of products. The goal is to support the design of products that can either be composted (biological cycle) or reused/recycled (technical cycle). Textile finished goods are assessed in terms of five categories for Cradle to Cradle Certification: material health, product circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness. Chemical products (dyes, pigments, auxiliaries, process chemicals) are evaluated within the material health category, the core factor of which is the absence of hazardous substances. Products that fulfill the necessary criteria are awarded the C2C Certified Material Health Certificate.

CHT’s contribution to the circular economy
The CHT Group, which has operations all around the world, develops products for the textile industry in accordance with the stringent requirements of the C2C standard. C2C by CHT, one of CHT’s sustainable portfolios, comprises certified dyes in all core dye classes (see list below). In maintaining this portfolio, CHT enables textile manufacturers, dyeing operations, and printers to produce recyclable items and uphold the highest standards of sustainability.

C2C by CHT even includes dyes for bio-based and recycled synthetic fibers.
• Reactive dyes (BEZAKTIV): Perfect for cotton and other cellulosic fibers, offering bright colors and simple dyeing processes.
• Disperse dyes (BEMACRON): Suitable for dyeing virgin and recycled polyester, renowned for excellent washing fastness.
• Acid dyes (BEMACID): A broad color palette designed for dyeing wool, silk, and synthetic and bio-based polyamide.
• Vat dyes (BEZATHREN): For intense colors with high washing fastness in natural fibers such as cotton.
• Pigments (BEZAPRINT): Versatile, for use in a wide range of printing and coating applications.

CHT offers a variety of products in each of these dye classes, which have been awarded the commendable Gold Level of the C2C Certified Material Health Certificate. Complementing CHT’s broad selection of dyes are numerous certified auxiliaries and process chemicals. These products form a complete, single-source package for manufacturers to produce circular, Cradle to Cradle Certified textiles.

CHT’s unique selling point: The largest product portfolio supporting textile production
In offering the widest selection of C2C-certified products on the market, CHT is showcasing its position as a leader in sustainability.
