DyStar Pakistan presented its eco-friendly concept to Denim customers and explained how its Cadira® Denim System eliminates the use of hydrosulphite, which is responsible for salt formation during the denim dyeing process.
The resulting salt generated in conventional dyeing processes can make its way into natural water supplies and degrade the ecosystem.
Cadira Denim
Using the Cadira Denim System, DyStar replaces hydrosulphite with its organic reducing agent Sera® Con C-RDA and combines it with DyStar® Indigo Vat 40% Solution to create what it calls the “Cleanest indigo on the market.”
Based on the several trials in Pakistan and other countries, the Cadira Denim System was compared with two other methods of indigo dyeing: the conventional process, which uses Indigo powder and requires large amounts of hydrosulphite in both the preparation and dyeing stages; and DyStar Indigo Vat 40% Solution, which is pre-reduced and only requires hydrosulphite in the dyeing process.
The Cadira Denim system found a significant reduction in the amount of sulphites by 95%, total solid reduction by 93% and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) reduction by 88% in the wastewater as compared to the conventional method and pre-reduced method!
Aside from having a lesser effect on the environment, the Cadira Denim System also introduces a unique palette of shades and wash-down effects as a result of the different chemistry and application.
Cadira Laundry
This is the first time ever in the history of laundry that DyStar introduces the enzymatic system for replacement of hypochlorite and potassium permanganate product — Lava® Zyme NBF. By applying the Cadira Laundry concept, its Lava Con NAF provides a more ecological and sustainable way of production, which is included in the ZDHC Gateway System Level 3.
These systems can be applied as a paramagnet replacement where no heating is required for activation hence, not resulting damage of fabric as it is engineered for indigo with no additional specification neutralization required.
To meet the demand for laser booster and laser enhancer, Lava Con LAC and Lava Con LSB were also introduced.
