Hyosung TNC and Lenzing partner on sustainable yoga fabric collection

Two textile leaders—Hyosung TNC, a global elastane manufacturer, and Lenzing Group, known for its regenerated cellulosic fibers—have joined forces to launch a sustainable yoga fabric collection debuting at Performance Days Munich on October 29–30.

The collection combines Lenzing’s Tencel™ and EcoVero™ fibers, made with Refibra™ technology, and Hyosung’s Regen Bio Elastane, derived partly from renewable resources, alongside 100% recycled Regen Elastane and Creora Color+ Elastane. Designed by Hyosung’s Fashion Design Center, the range showcases comfort, performance, and environmental responsibility for modern activewear.

Lenzing’s head of global technical development, Nicole Schram, said the partnership exemplifies “how material innovation and collaboration can accelerate the shift to bio-based, traceable, and scalable alternatives.” Hyosung’s sustainability director, Simon Whitmarsh-Knight, added that pairing renewable elastane with Lenzing’s wood-based fibers delivers “a fully biobased material story” that meets brand and consumer sustainability goals.

At the fair, the companies will also host two events highlighting traceability and circular design. Hyosung will present its transition from corn- to sugarcane-based feedstock for Regen Bio Elastane—reducing carbon emissions and improving scalability through a partnership with Geno to produce bio-BDO in Vietnam by 2026.

Both partners frame the collaboration as a blueprint for integrated, low-carbon textile innovation, signaling how strategic partnerships can reshape the sustainability trajectory of performance fashion.
