TEXtalks International is pleased to present an exclusive interview of Zarwan Saleem, Director, Moonaco on the occasion of celebration of 70 years of friendship between Germany and Pakistan.
TEXtalks: Germany and Pakistan are celebrating 70 years of friendship, what would you say?
Zarwan Saleem: Despite the cultural and religious differences between Germany and Pakistan there has always been excellent relation between the two countries. Even though during last couple of years of COVID pandemic both countries against all odds managed to continue commercial activity. The other aspect of this 70 years relationship is development and humanitarian. On one side German Governments provided development aid while on the other side Pakistan cannot forget the humanitarian efforts of Dr. Ruth Pfau. People to people relationship has played a very important role in this friendship. On a larger scale cultural exchange programs, language courses and Pakistani students studying in German Universities while on the other hand many German engineers are visiting and staying in Pakistan to help our Industrial sector.
TEXtalks: How German technology is contributing to the advancement of the textile industry in Pakistan?
Zarwan Saleem: Germany has always been a world leader in technology and innovation, we would like to highlight a few points here which are helping Pakistan textile industry to be competitive in the world market:
• German Textile machine manufacturers are considered to be the top suppliers in Pakistan and since the evolution of Industry 4.0 concept the German manufacturers like Trützschler and Saurer have introduced the concept of “Intelligent machines”.
• The new equipment coming from German Textile machine manufacturers is helping Pakistani Textile Industry to cope up with the challenges of sustainability and productivity by reducing wastes and optimizing energy consumption.
• Automation systems introduced by German machine suppliers has helped greatly to reduce the ever increasing labor costs. The other aspect of automation provided is reducing human interference/handling of materials to ensure end product quality is of highest standard.
• Centralized data collection systems provided by these manufacturers has enormously contributed to improve quality and productivity by observing the real time data particularly in Spinning and Weaving sector.

Zarwan Saleem: Moonaco is serving the Pakistan Textile Industry and its esteemed clients since more than 40 years now. Our major focus is indenting of textile machinery in spinning and weaving sectors.
By creating synergy among our various Principals we are able to offer complete projects.

Zarwan Saleem: Germany and Pakistan relationship has important opportunities for development, we need to uphold and carry forward our good traditions, consolidate traditional friendship and continue to make headway.
