Sustainability is a hot topic around the world, especially when it comes to Textiles. Researchers are proposing new solutions for adding sustainability in textiles.
Dunelm, a British homeware retailer brand with more than 169 superstores, has recently announced an in-store textile recycling scheme to add their share in a sustainable world initiative.
The scheme was launched on Monday, October 19, 2020.
Dunelm is committed to becoming a sustainable business in 2020 by promoting green product ranges, reduced carbon emissions, and waste management.
The brand urges its customers to help create a more circular economy by prolonging unwanted fabrics’ lifecycle, which could otherwise end up in a landfill.
According to this initiative, ten stores of Denelm in the UK will allow their customers to recycle old and unwanted household fabrics.
For this green project, Dunelm has partnered with First Mile, known as a leading recycling company. First Mile will collect the said fabrics from specified stores. These unwanted fabrics will be converted into useful fillers for car seats, boxing bags, oil rags, and other beneficial textile products.
Dunelm is hopeful that its customers would encourage the company in this sustainable goal.
