In collaboration with Recover™, New York-based denim company DL1961 has created the world’s first high-performance circular jeans. The new capsule collection builds on DL1961’s more sustainable manufacturing process. Every pair of DL1961 jeans is tracked by the Environmental Impact Measurement software from Jeanologia. With the partnership with Recover, DL1961 also houses one of the largest textile recycling plants in the world.
Model, a philanthropist, and founder of eco-lifestyle brand Tropic of C, Candice Swanepoel, stars in the campaign for the new collection of the best-selling DL1961 silhouettes made with Recover fibers.
DL1961 is a global premium denim brand carried in hundreds of stores. The brand was founded in 2008 using XFIT LYCRA, a patented fabric.
XFIT is a cotton-wrapped Lycra thread intertwined with polyester made by DL parent company ADM Denim, which Faisal and Meliha Ahmed founded.

Recover™ is a leading material sciences company that transforms waste into sustainable recycled fibers, closing the loop on fashion.
Recover™ recycled cotton fiber is markedly better for the environment than conventional cotton and organic cotton. The magic happens when denim is weaved with Recover™ fibers together with high-tech Modal, Tencel, and stretch to create brand new yarns.
Each meets DL1061’s high feel and fit standards, with a lower impact on the planet than traditional yarns. Laser and Ozone Technologies give that authentic denim look without the environmental impact. DL1961 has invested in this innovative technology to create cutting-edge effects without the harmful chemicals and wasted water used in traditional washing techniques.

Sarah Ahmed, co-founder, and chief creative officer of DL1961, said, “As a CEO and founder of her own fashion brand, Candice understands the importance of sustainable fashion. Her passion for the planet and aptitude to affect change make her the perfect partner for this collection.
