Trützschler TC 30i: The Game Changer in Carding Technology
Alexander Stamper, Director Sales, Spinning, Trützschler Group, shares insights on smart technologies shaping the future of spinning
As global textile manufacturing faces a new era of expectations, driven by the need for consistency, efficiency, and sustainability, technology providers must stay one step ahead. Trützschler, a name synonymous with high-performance spinning preparation, is meeting this demand through innovation that merges digital intelligence with robust machine design. The company’s latest flagship product, the TC 30i intelligent card, represents a leap forward in carding technology. From optimizing fiber yield to eliminating operator-dependent variables, the TC 30i delivers a highly automated, consistent carding process that meets the realities of modern spinning. At IGATEX 2025, Trützschler’s booth drew strong attention from mill owners, operators, and decision-makers alike. In a conversation with TEXtalks, Alexander Stamper, Director Sales, Spinning at Trützschler Group, shared key insights on the TC 30i and how it is helping mills adapt to today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s demands.
TEXtalks: Which innovative technologies is Trützschler presenting at IGATEX 2025?
Alexander Stamper: At Trützschler Spinning we are presenting the latest innovations in carding, draw frame and combing. All innovations address fundamental customer needs in fiber processing: high efficiency, more sustainable raw material utilization and intelligent automation. One highlight is our next generation card, the TC 30i, which is on display at our booth. Our team also shares insights about the Integrated Draw Frame IDF 3, which enables shortened processes that save resources, energy and production space. Visitors have also the opportunity to discover the world’s first 12-head comber, the TCO 21XL. This new high-performance comber makes it possible to increase productivity by 50 %, while requiring 25 % less space and achieving consistent quality at all times.
TEXtalks: How does the TC 30i intelligent card improve production outcomes compared to traditional systems?
Alexander Stamper: Our TC 30i card makes it possible to achieve the best quality from any raw material due to 35 % more active flats and a 14 % extended carding length, resulting in a higher level of performance and quality. Our automated T-GO gap optimizer improves quality by enabling the smallest and most precise carding gaps – far beyond anything possible with manual settings. With T-GO our cards are intelligent cards
The TC 30i minimizes cotton waste because it features a new and highly precise mote knife at the first licker-in. Customers can automatically optimize and adjust the mote knife settings to meet their specific needs. Combined with the impact of our WASTECONTROL sensor, this significantly reduces material waste.
TEXtalks: Can you explain how your integrated automation and cleaning systems reduce labor dependency in spinning preparation?
Alexander Stamper: TC 30i with T-GO automated gap optimizer: improves quality by enabling the smallest and most precise carding gaps – far beyond anything possible with manual settings. T-SCAN TS-T5: This foreign part separator uses state-of-the-art sensors and image-processing technology to detect foreign parts like stems, leaf fragments or other waste – and then automatically ejects them by minimize fiber loss. The highly efficient machine is also easy to clean and maintain, even when production is running.
Autoleveller Draw Frame TD-10: Automated functions like AUTO DRAFT and OPTI SET enable this draw frame to ensure excellent yarn quality by self-optimizing the break draft and drafting point in real time. These innovations take over the decision-making process for our customers to adapt settings for various raw material types automatically.
TEXtalks: How do Trützschler machines help reduce raw material waste and fiber losses during processing?
Alexander Stamper: The next-generation card TC 30i is equipped with a sophisticated waste suction system that collects and separates different types of waste. This makes it possible to reuse more than 50 % of card waste in a high-quality manner. Alternatively, high-quality waste can be sold to third parties for an attractive price.
Our TC 30i also comes with the proven WASTECONTROL system – an easy-to-use and effective assurance against unnecessary fiber loss. Its optical sensors constantly check the waste quality at the key cleaning point, the licker-in. If too many good fibers are detected in the waste, the system optimizes the mote knives via servo motor to stop unnecessary loss of good fibers. WASTECONTROL is also available for the blow room, like our Pre-Cleaner CL-X.
TEXtalks: How does the My Mill system enhance transparency and support real-time decision-making in production?
Alexander Stamper: Internal benchmarking of shift and machine productivity: Improvement of machine performance. Check instant state of your machines: track production values and see error messages. Transparent data analysis enables fast and qualified data-based reportings and decisions. Time savings in daily routines through predefined reports for quality and production monitoring. Background monitoring of status and limits gives security and frees up focus for things that really need attention. Enabling of corrective measures reduces maintenance and running costs.
Cloud-based application = secure access via My Identity authentication. Integration with third-party applications is possible.
TEXtalks: What are the Digital Solutions offered by the Trützschler Group?
Alexander Stamper: My Trützschler platform offers the best way to keep track of all digital solutions:
• My Mill, mill monitoring system: allows customers to monitor and optimize their spinning mill anytime, anywhere
• My Shop: Order parts and components online quickly and easily
• My Wires: digital clothing management
• My Training: Upskill your employees with online training activities
All customers that commission a new installation can also access our new service: Digital Start-Up. This comprehensive onboarding program generates quick wins from Day One and will help you achieve top levels of performance for many years.
TEXtalks: How has the response been from visitors at IGATEX?
Alexander Stamper: Despite the complexities of the current global market, the response at our Karachi booth has been very encouraging. We’ve seen a strong turnout of both quality and quantity in visitors, especially interest in the TC 30i. Customers appreciate seeing the machine live, which allows them to better understand its features and benefits beyond brochures or presentations. The feedback has been positive and enthusiastic, confirming that the market is ready to embrace new technology that addresses today’s challenges in spinning. We’re optimistic about continuing these discussions and supporting our customers in adopting smart, sustainable spinning solutions.
