APTMA turns up with innovative ideas as way forward

The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association has introduced some innovative ideas to move forward during the fiscal year 2022-23.

Talking to Textalks, Patron-in-Chief of the Association Dr Gohar Ejaz said a National Economic and Business Council has been constituted, which would act as a think tank on the economic and business affairs of the country.

He said, the APTMA has elected for the very first time a Vice Chairman for the Value-added sector of the country and Mr Asad Shafi has been chosen for the office during the current fiscal year. It is also worth noting that the APTMA is set to invest in the value-added sector ahead. Its members have planned to install 100 garment units keeping in mind the changing textile industry trends world over. The industry has set a target of $50 billion exports by moving to the stitching sector and conversion of $3 billion yarn and fabrics of the country into value-added garments for exports and fetching an additional export of $10 billion. The Association will also set a Garment Training Centre to train manpower, particularly the female workforce, for employment in the vast expanding garment sector.

Meanwhile, the APTMA leadership has also decided to digitize its working to make it and paperless organization. Similarly, the Association will activate Cotton Foundation during the current fiscal besides establishing Cotton Excellence Centre, a lab for testing cotton etc., with foreign accreditation.
