The efforts of the TDAP and PMC were acknowledged and valued by the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce as it brough attention to the export potential of businesses located in and around Gwadar. A series of seminars have been organized by the (TDAP) and PMC to make businessmen aware and advertise the export and trading opportunities made available by the CPFTA-II which became in service from 1st January 2020.

A detailed presentation on how these business opportunities can be availed under Phase-II of CPFTA was expertly delivered by Riaz Shaikh Director General-TDAP Karachi. He further educated the attendees about what to expect from the second phase of CPFTA as China has eradicated the tariff on 313 high priority tariff lines of Pakistan’s export interest. This includes textile, leather, agro-food, machinery, auto, and other leading sectors.

This opportunity can be fully availed to our benefit if the exporters work fast by increasing the export percentage to China. Raees Naqvi, Section Officer, Ministry of Commerce, also offered some insightful points about the emerging opportunities.

The event successfully came to an end with the vote of thanks by Asif Kakar, Deputy Director, TDAP, Gwadar.
