The British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA) is set to unveil a range of cutting-edge textile testing technologies at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, scheduled for October 28–31 at the Singapore Expo. This collaboration underscores BTMA’s commitment to advancing textile quality and efficiency through innovation.
Key Innovations to Be Displayed:
LED Colour Booths and UV Testing Lamps: Verivide will present its new LED-based UltraView colour assessment booths, designed to provide consistent and standardised lighting conditions for accurate colour evaluation. Additionally, UV testing lamps will be showcased to assess the durability and performance of textiles under ultraviolet exposure.
Digital Fabric Handle Testing: Advanced systems for evaluating the tactile properties of fabrics will be demonstrated, enabling manufacturers to assess texture and feel without the need for human touch, thereby enhancing consistency and reproducibility in quality control processes.
Automated Patterned Fabric Inspection: Innovations in automated inspection systems will be highlighted, capable of detecting defects in complex patterned fabrics with high precision, reducing reliance on manual inspection and improving overall production efficiency.
Next-Generation Martindale Motion Tester: New developments in abrasion testing equipment will be showcased, offering enhanced capabilities to simulate real-world wear and tear on textiles, providing valuable data for assessing fabric durability.
BTMA CEO Jason Kent emphasised that these advancements represent significant strides in textile testing, with many technologies developed through collaborative efforts between BTMA members and industry partners. The exhibition aims to provide a platform for professionals to explore and adopt these innovations, driving the future of textile manufacturing.
