General Silicones Co. Ltd. (GS), based in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, has announced Compo-SiL®. The newly developed silicone-based sheets with a thin modified layer made of Polyurethane (PU). The PU modified layer is easy to apply using a diverse selection of adhesives, allowing the quick and easy integration of Compo-SiL® to existing mass production processes.
Silicone is also used in the energy industry (such as manufacturing solar panels), the textiles, and the technology industries. Compo-SiL® can be used in any of these fields in many diverse methods, making it a very versatile and efficient product. Even in the transportation industry, various silicone products are used for their freedom in design, color, hardness, and surface properties.
Due to its temperature stability range and non-flammable and heat retardant properties, it is also preferred in railways and the aerospace industry as a safer alternative to plastics.
