The central chairman Pakistan Ready made Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA), Mr Ijaz A Khokhar, on 22nd August, said that the consideration to step up the Pakistan Apparel Export Council is active with an aim to facilitate the business community of the country.
While speaking to the media he said that the PRGMEA is done with the initial work for the establishment of the proposed council.
He also told the media that a special board will be formulated that will consist of the member of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDPP) and the Textile Ministry and stakeholders for finding the ways to enhance exports volume of the garment sector.
Mr chairman also disclosed that the PRGMEA was making vigorous efforts to enhance the exports of the garment sector by up to 8 billion US dollars by the year 2020.
According to him, this will be done by the active participation of the business community of Pakistan.
The necessary arrangements for setting up state of the Pakistan Ready made Technical Training Institute in Sialkot, that cost over 175 million rupee. Also a site for the proposed training center had been finalized and the development work is soon to be started, told the officials.
Mr Ijaz further said that the concept of setting up a training institute is to produce a well trained workforce for pattern design, stitching, inspection, quality control, sewing machines and marketing mechanics for both men and women.
