French Ambassador to Pakistan H.E Nicolas Galey while interacting with media, added that his country welcomes this. There are numerous French fashion brands like Chanel which is one of the most famous luxury fashion houses in the world, known for its timeless elegance and classic designs. Louis Vuitton is renowned for its luxury leather goods, including handbags, trunks, shoes, watches, and accessories. Dior is another French brand that is a high-end fashion brand famous for its haute couture, ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, and fragrances.
Hermès is yet another French luxury brand that specializes in leather goods, fashion accessories, perfumery, and ready-to-wear. Givenchy from France is a fashion house offering haute couture, ready-to-wear, accessories, and perfumes. Saint Laurent is known for its modern and iconic pieces, including leather jackets, dresses, and accessories. Ralph & Russo is another branch that although founded by a British designer, Ralph & Russo is based in Paris and is known for its haute couture and luxury ready-to-wear collections.
He said the government of France wants to develop the number of French companies working and trading with Pakistan. He also highlighted the benefits of GSP+ status that has been accorded to Pakistan. The Ambassador said that the GSP + scheme favored Pakistani exports considerably in many fields, which includes the benefits to its fundamental industry the textiles.
He said Pakistan’s exports to France have increased appreciably under this initiative. Pakistan also saw a jump in its textile exports in the EU member countries.
Galey further said that during his trip to Karachi, he visited existing French brands working in the country pointing out that Peugeot was the only European car manufacturer operating in Pakistan.
The French ambassador also laid emphasis on cooperation in the field of agriculture as Pakistan was the fifth largest producer of milk globally. He added that it was certainly a sector where the economic relationship between the two countries could develop.
