                         the textile manufacturing sector




               WWF Pakistan organized a successful workshop on consultative workshop on decarbonizing the textile
                manufacturing sector of Pakistan. More than 50 participants attended the workshop, including textile
                industry professionals, government organizations,  the FCCI chairman, and the PHMA chairman. The
               workshop- Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) Facility- is a joint initiative of the German
               Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), UK's Department
              for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Utilities
              (KEFM), the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the European Union and the Children's Investment
                                                  Fund Foundation (CIFF).

              Mian Kashif Zia, Chairman of PHMA NZ, said that such workshops are necessary for putting the textile
               sector on the right track. Atif Munir Sheikh, President of FCCI, said that the NAMA Facility project by
               WWF Pakistan is an excellent effort for decarbonizing the textile manufacturing sector of Pakistan. He
                said that FCCI appreciates such initiatives and ensures every possible support to the NAMA Facility
               Project team members. He further said that technical teams should be formed which could go door by
               door in various industries and make sure that the problems are rightly addressed for the said purpose.
              The participant asked various questions during the session, which indicated their motivation and interest
                                                in the NAMA Facility project.

               Ahmed Hassaan Ghazali, Sr. Manager WWF-Pakistan, presented the way to decarbonize the textile
               manufacturing sector for sustainable and responsible economic growth in Pakistan. He emphasized a
                 strong need to efficiently utilize the available energy resources, apart from switching to renewable
                       energy resources, which he described by the words "Do More with Less Resources."
