LCCI to support and promote trade and investment opportunities between Pakistan and the UK

As stable economic and trade partners, Pakistan and United Kingdom are all set to flourish together and take business to new heights because of their mutual understanding and trust.

In Conversation with a two-member delegation from United Kingdom managed by Farhan Farani, the LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah said that Pakistan will be able to set target for export by teaming up with the United Kingdom.

Various issues including trade, investment, Brexit situation and GSP status to Pakistan was taken under consideration and discussed. The LCCI President said that Pakistan and UK appreciate solid bilateral relations and have mutual history and culture.

The urgent need to double the current trade volume between the UK and Pakistan can only happen if Pakistan is provided some relied through trade facilitation. Along with that, an exchange of information should also be considered so as to stay up to date with each other. He said, “We have to identify problems and find out solutions to the issues coming in the way of trade promotion.”

For Pakistan, its textile industry is a goldmine as it muster up over 60 percent export revenue of the total. Pakistan is getting a charge out of GSP Plus status. UK is an exceptionally huge market yet we are trading limited products. LCCI Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry put priority on skill development advancement.

Executive Committee Member Haji Asif Sehar offers assurance that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry will go to all miles to secure the blooming relationship between two countries and keep promoting trade and investment opportunities.
