National design conference 2023 will be held from May16-17 at the main auditorium PIFD Lahore. The two day conference is organized by the Pakistan Institute of Fashion design.
The inaugural session would be addressed by Prof. Shabnam Syed Khan who is a visiting professor at the Harvard University USA. She would speak on humane learning and teaching. Prof Hina Tayyaba the Vice Chancellor of PIFD will also address the inaugural secession.
The second session which would be a technical session would start from 12 pm and would be chaired by DR Shabnam Syed Khan and would be addressed by four experts. The chair would give the concluding remarks after the question/answer session.
Panel discussion would take place in the third session. Its topic would be Pakistan Fashion Industry Past, present and future. The participants would be leading designers and academics.
On the 17th of May the first session would be reserved for presentations. It would be followed by a technical session that would be addressed by industry experts. The last session would again belong to technical discussion.
Overall the pros and cons of the fashion industry in Pakistan would be discussed and experts would guide the industry to take steps towards the current trends in fashion designing and the ways Pakistan could grab a share in the trillion dollar industry. The sustainable ways of production might also come under discussion
