PM to launch garments made of recycled polyester for use by IndianOil staff

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched in Karnataka uniforms made from recycled polyester (rPET) and cotton for retail customer attendants and LPG delivery personnel under the Indian Oil Corporation’s (IndialOil) ‘Unbottled’ initiative.

One complete uniform is made from the recycling of approximately 28 used polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. It is a commitment towards the environment by the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation. Under this concept, IndianOil’s ‘Unbottled’ brand is produced for sustainable garments and launched for merchandise made from recycled polyester. Indian oil aims to meet the total requirement of uniforms for customer attendants of other oil marketing companies. Moreover, the ‘Unbottled’ brand would also be producing non-combat uniforms for the Army, uniforms and dresses for institutions, and sales and retail customers, according to the press release of the brand.

The Indian Prime Minister also inaugurated the India Energy Week 2023 at Bengaluru again with the target of reducing the carbon print through renewable energy projects. The week will also exhibit India’s rise as an energy transition powerhouse. The one-week event will bring be attended by leaders from the traditional and non-traditional energy industries, governments, and academia to discuss the challenges and opportunities that a responsible energy transition presents.
