Printful chooses Coloreel’s ITCU technology to overcome embroidery yarn color limitations

Printful is an on-demand printing and warehousing company that helps people turn their ideas into brands and products. Printful fulfills and ships custom clothing, accessories, and home & living items for online businesses. Printful has chosen Coloreel’s ITCU technology to overcome embroidery limitations.

Embroidery has always had a limited color offering because a single machine can only house a small number of threads, and each has its fixed color. For example, the red thread is only one kind of red without brighter or darker color variations. This has made embroidery unfit for most designs with a wide range of colors and gradients, limiting creativity. However, with Coloreel’s ITCU technology, these limitations are no more. By instantly coloring the thread on demand, ITCU technology enables unique and more creative designs and vastly improves overall production efficiency.

Elina Kruze, Head of New Product Development & Merchandising at Printful, said, “Printful’s new unlimited color embroidery technique offers customers new opportunities to experiment and turn their creative ideas into products. At Printful, we put a heavy emphasis on innovation as we strive to provide the best solutions and services for our customers. I believe that this new feature will be an industry game changer and will empower store owners to sell intricately embroidered products or logos that perfectly match their branding.”

Torbjorn Back, CEO of Coloreel, said, “Through the new and unique possibilities in design, and our integrated digital solution for efficient on-demand embroidery production, Coloreel offers Printful customers additional business and value creation opportunities. This makes it possible for retailers to elevate their brands and grow their business like never before.”

Environmental Impact
By instantly coloring the thread during production, using Coloreel means no wastewater, minimized use of chemicals, and minimized thread waste. Moreover, featuring 100% recycled polyester, Coloreel products support the textile industry’s move towards more sustainable production and decorations.

Zero wastewater: On average, the textile industry consumes 215 trillion liters of water per year. Coloreel is proud that Coloreel-powered embroidery machines instantly color the thread while producing no wastewater and reducing water pollution. Reduced thread waste: Coloreel’s products provide access to thousands of colors instead of the few standard ones you maybe have in stock, resulting in less overall waste by eliminating the need to house an abundance of obsolete threads and a deadstock of thread reels. All in all, Coloreel products support a more sustainable future for the embroidery and textile industry at large.
