Renewcell gets Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) version 2.0 for its facility in Ortviken

Swedish pulpmaker Renewcell, the producer behind Circulose, a dissolving cellulose pulp made from 100% textile waste, has obtained Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) version 2.0 approval for its Renewcell 1 facility in Ortviken, Sundsvall.

Circulose made at the site now demonstrably conforms to Textile Exchange’s RCS 100 requirements, the manufacturer said. It added that the news had only further solidified its “mission to change the global textile industry and make it circular and sustainable”.

RCS certification indicates that Renewcell 1 meets minimum recycled input and chain of custody criteria, as with Renewcell pilot plant Kristinehamn, which became operational in 2017.
