The Textile Exchange Conference 2025, held from October 13 to 17 at the Lisbon Congress Centre, concluded last week after bringing together global leaders from the textile, fashion, and fiber industries. With the theme “Shifting Landscapes,” the conference focused on how the industry can adapt to environmental, social, and economic disruptions while accelerating systems transformation.
Over five days, the event hosted hundreds of participants, including brands, suppliers, NGOs, farmers, and innovators. Discussions centered on regenerative agriculture, circular systems, and the urgency of transitioning toward nature-positive business models.
Key highlights included YKK’s showcase of circular economy innovations, such as recycled zippers and traceable fastenings, and Lenzing’s guided mill tours across Portugal, which offered attendees direct insights into low-impact fiber production using TENCEL™ and ECOVERO™. Workshops and breakout sessions emphasized place-based solutions, science-backed targets, and traceability tools. The hybrid format allowed global participation, combining in-person sessions with online streaming.
The conference closed on October 17 with a series of field visits, reinforcing the real-world impact of sustainable innovation. As climate and regulatory pressures intensify, the Textile Exchange Conference 2025 positioned itself as a key platform for unified, cross-sector action toward a more resilient textile ecosystem.
