Realizing the importance of sustainable processes numerous industries in Vietnam including textiles are adopting green production methods to maintain and expand their export markets.
Many local enterprises have obtained green production certifications from recognized accredited agencies.
The textile sector entrepreneurs in Vietnam consider this process challenging but realize that adaptation to green technologies is essential for survival in export markets. Some of them are convinced that this will not only sustain their exports but would also expand their global outreach.
Textile companies are increasingly equipping their factories with modern machinery by Western standards and converting production activities accordingly. Many have acquired global organic and recycled fabric product certifications.
Though going green is the goal of the domestic textile industry to keep its global markets but the transition is not as easy as it requires a lot of capital to change the entire production chain.
They are also inspired by the success of their colleague that converted to green and are reaping the benefits.
Chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, Vu Duc Giang highlighted the importance of going green. He said the transparency that comes with green adaptation ensures sustained growth.
