Vietnam textile & garment exports dipped 13.6% between Jan & Sept

In the first nine months of the present year, Vietnam’s exports of textiles and apparel totalled US $25.09 billion, a year-on-year decline of 13.6 percent. For the month of September, textile and garment exports stood at $2.56 billion, a drop of 5.77 percent
from a year ago period and a massive contraction of 25.55 percent over August 2023.

The decrease in textile and clothing in September has come after export growth for four consecutive months. In September, yarn exports amounted to 153.8 kilo tons by volume, a rise of 11.73 percent compared to the earlier month and 32.64 percent as against the same month of 2022.

The yarn imports were 89.2 kilo tons in September, climbing by 5.46 percent over the previous month and 19.29 percent over September 2022. The fabrics imports stood at $1.1 billion in September, growing month on month by 1.47 percent and expanding year on year by 2.62 percent.
