Zara recalls children’s clothes due to safety risk

Zara has issued an urgent recall of a children’s clothing item on the Competition and Consumer Protection website due to safety issues, warning parents of the safety risk for the children.

There are approximately 591 affected products for which warning has been issued in the Republic of Ireland. Due to which Zara have issued an urgent recall of a children’s clothing item due to safety risk.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission posted an alert on their website urging people to discontinue use of the item. For instance Buttons on some items present a choking risk. The clothing product in question is the Zara Kids, Blue Baby Shirt with Sleeves. The company is prepared to refund the entire amount to anyone who purchased this risky children’s wear.

In a statement on their website, the CCPC wrote: “ITX Retail Ireland Limited t/a Zara is carrying out a recall of Zara Kids, Blue Baby Shirt with Sleeves. The risk associated with the product is that of choking due to insufficient attachment of some of the buttons on the garment, a button may become loose which may be swallowed by a child which could cause them to choke.

The brand is Zara Kids. The type/number of models is 6048/551/400/I2022. The bar codes are 0604855140009, 0604855140012, 0604855140018, 0604855140024, 0604855140036, 0604855140048, 0604855140060. The batch number is unknown.
