TEXtalks: Can you please give an introduction of Karl Mayer?
Mr Peter Obrist: Karl Mayer is located in Germany with head-offices and manufacturing units in Germany, China, Japan and Italy. We have around 2000 employees and in 2017 our turnover was close to 700 million Euros.
TEXtalks: Which products Karl Mayer is mainly dealing with?
Mr Peter Obrist: Karl Mayer has two main product portfolios, warp knitting machines working with filament yarns and warp preparation machines for weaving.
TEXtalks: What are the main products of Karl Mayer for Pakistani market?
Mr Peter Obrist: In Pakistan we are mostly selling sizing machines direct warpers and ball warpers for denim industry, beamers and indigo dying machines.
TEXtalks: How does Karl Mayer see sustainability?
Mr Peter Obrist: Sustainability is very important for Karl Mayer. Our aim is to reduce energy and water consumption.
TEXtalks: What does industry 4.0 mean to Karl Mayer?
Mr Peter Obrist: For Karl Mayer industry 4.0 is very important. Our engineers are highly focused on e-commerce and digitalization.
TEXtalks: How has the response from the visitors been so far at the exhibition?
Mr Peter Obrist: I have been coming to Pakistan since many years now and the response has been as expected. The response was good but it can be better.
TEXtalks: How do you see Pakistani market for Karl Mayer products?
Mr Peter Obrist: Pakistan has always been a very important market for warping, sizing and dying machine. In the last couple of years Pakistan has contributed 15% to Karl Mayer business figures each year.
