COMPOSITES EUROPE 2014 about to set new attendance record

Some 440 exhibitors from 25 countries are expected. About 85% of the available exhibition space has already been booked. COMPOSITES EUROPE 2014 is posting record numbers to kick off the ninth year of the event. This year’s edition will again take place concurrently with the leading international trade fair ALUMINIUM. With a combined 1,400 exhibitors, the two events will transform the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre into one of the year’s largest lightweight construction forums.

From automobile manufacturing to aeronautics, boatbuilding and the wind-power economy all the way through to the construction sector: COMPOSITES EUROPE reflects the entire spectrum of the composites market. The focus this year, as in years past, will be on automation solutions that enable processes for the high-volume manufacturing of composites components. New lightweight construction concepts, materials and the most up-to-date production and automation solutions will be on display.

Top location amidst Europe’s lightweight construction centres

In even years, COMPOSITES EUROPE takes place in Düsseldorf, a city in the heart of one of the largest industrial hubs for lightweight construction in Europe. From here, the trade fair reaches all major composites-deploying application sectors. Moreover, Germany is Europe’s largest market for composites. But even from an international perspective, the trade fair presents the ideal platform for obtaining a comprehensive overview of the entire industry. Out of a total of about 10,000 trade visitors expected at the event, roughly 40% will come from outside Germany, and the exhibitor side will feature a line-up of international key players, as well. More than 25 countries will be represented at COMPOSITES EUROPE, with forecasts calling for a total of about 440 exhibitors.

Additionally, the International AVK Conference will bring together in Düsseldorf leading composites experts from across Europe. At the event, which kicks off the trade fair on 6 and 7 October, visitors will get a chance to listen to numerous international presenters speak on current issues before exploring those topics in greater depth during their subsequent COMPOSITES EUROPE visit.

Parallel event: ALUMINIUM

The leading international trade fair ALUMINIUM will take place concurrently with COMPOSITES EUROPE in Düsseldorf from 7 to 9 October. The world’s largest industry event for the aluminium sector will bring together aluminium manufacturers and processors as well as providers of production, processing and finishing technology and equipment. The previous edition of the trade fair attracted 907 exhibitors and 21,508 visitors. Around 1,000 exhibitors from 50 countries are expected to attend ALUMINIUM 2014.

About COMPOSITES EUROPE:

After eight successful events, COMPOSITES EUROPE – in conjunction with the International AVK Conference – has become firmly established as the leading German trade fair event for fibre-reinforced plastics. COMPOSITES EUROPE takes place in Stuttgart in odd years and in Düsseldorf in even ones. Two years ago, a total of 8,131 trade visitors attended the Düsseldorf edition. That number climbed to 9,171 last year, when the trade fair was held concurrently with the HYBRID Expo in Stuttgart. COMPOSITES EUROPE is organised by trade fair organiser Reed Exhibitions in cooperation with the European industry association EuCIA, the German Federation for Reinforced Plastics AVK, the VDMA Forum Composite Technology and the international trade magazine Reinforced Plastics. In 2014, it will be held concurrently with the leading international trade fair ALUMINIUM from 7 to 9 October.
