Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – The workshop dedicated to Italian textile technologies successfully took place in Ulaanbaatar from 21 to 23 June 2026. The event brought together 13 leading Italian textile machinery manufacturers, highlighting the growing interest in strengthening industrial cooperation between Italy and Mongolia.
The Italian textile machinery industry, globally recognized for its excellence in technology, innovation, and quality, showcased advanced and customized solutions tailored to the needs of the Mongolian textile sector. The workshop focused on supporting Mongolia’s transition toward more efficient, high-quality, and sustainable production.
Strong Emphasis on Strategic Partnership
Italy’s expertise in cashmere and wool processing aligned perfectly with Mongolia’s key raw materials. According to ACIMIT data, the Mongolian market has shown significant dynamism in recent years. Italian exports to Mongolia were primarily led by spinning machinery (35%), followed by laundry equipment (21%), accessories (19%), finishing machines (14%), and weaving technology (11%).
Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, stated: “Mongolia represents a highly promising market for our industry. The strong participation of Italian companies in this workshop demonstrates our commitment to building a long-term technological partnership. Our specialized and flexible technologies are ready to support Mongolian operators in modernizing their production processes and increasing the value of their textile exports.”
High-Level Collaboration
The initiative was promoted by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and ACIMIT, with valuable support from the Embassy of Italy in Mongolia. Participating Italian companies included: Biancalani, Bianco, Color Service, Cormatex, Fadis, Lawer, Mesdan, Cosmatex, Pinter Caipo Italia, Proxima, Stalam, Tecnomeccanica Biellese, and Ugolini.
This successful workshop also served as an important step in promoting Italian participation at ITMA Hannover 2027, the world’s premier textile machinery exhibition
