Artistic Milliners
Omer Ahmed, CEO of Artistic Milliners, will talk about Artistic’s organic cotton vision in a webinar Today at 8:45 PM (July 8, 2021). The theme of the talk is about organic cotton and Pakistan’s efforts, opportunities, and challenges regarding traceability.
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic production.
Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. In addition, federal regulations prohibit the use of genetically engineered seeds for organic farming.
All cotton sold as organic in the United States must meet strict federal regulations covering how the cotton is grown. In 2020, Artistic Milliners became one of the pioneer Pakistani Contributors to the Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA). OCA is a multi-stakeholder organization fully dedicated to organic cotton and committed to bringing integrity, supply security, and measurable social and environmental impact.
Artistic Milliners aims to transition Milliner Cotton-Organic to the OCA FED Programme in the year 2022.
The webinar is important for the local textile industries trying to reach the global market with sustainable products.
Organic cotton could increase their outreach and potentially lead to a new horizon of success for the brands and local farming community.
