BASF has introduced Prexio Active, a new insecticide designed to control rice hoppers in Asia. Targeting all four major rice hopper species, including brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers, Prexio Active offers long-lasting control with fewer sprays.
It provides benefits beyond pest control by improving plant health, resulting in stronger stems, denser canopies, and increased root mass, leading to higher potential yields for rice growers.
This Group 4E insecticide requires flexible application methods and is compatible with both drones and tank mixes, making it ideal for sustainable farming practices.
Prexio Active is unique for its broad application window, allowing growers to select the best timing for their operations.
Currently, BASF is submitting regulatory dossiers for approval in key Asia-Pacific markets, with plans to launch in India during the second quarter of 2025. This launch comes at a time when rice farmers are seeking effective, sustainable solutions to combat the growing threat of rice hopper infestations and pesticide resistance.
Prexio Active positions BASF as a leading innovator in crop protection for the rice sector, promoting efficient farming while minimizing environmental impact.
