Global Fashion Summit (GFS) will be held in Boston, USA on 27 September, in the Revere Hotel, Boston. Organised by the non-profit group, the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the summit seeks to rally industry stakeholders to drive sustainability improvements across the industry.
Fashion industry speakers at the event include author Maxine Bédat, Samina Virk, the CEO of Vestaire Collection, Sarah Coulter from Accelerating Circularity and Worldly chief technology officer John Armstrong. The summit is being organized one day after the annual member meeting of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition in the same city and aims to tackle environmental regulation and policy, ESG finance and circularity in fashion retail supply chains.
The theme of this years’ summit is ‘Ambition to Action’, which the organizer GFA says will reflect on and respond to what happened at Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition, which took place in June earlier this year.
The organizers are lining up other speakers as well. Additional speakers who consented to participate include Ken Pucker, a professor of practice at the Fletcher School at Tufts University and Mumit Hasan, director of business and operations at Reverse Resources Bangladesh. More speakers will be announced shortly.
Focus would be mainly on the role of Americans in accelerating action based on the conversations and learnings from Copenhagen. The 2023 edition is the second time that the event will be hosted outside of Copenhagen. In November 2022, the GFA held the event for the first time in Singapore.
