Chinese textile investment of $60.85 million to create 11000 new jobs in Bangladesh

The Chinese company Kaixi Lingerie has agreed with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority to establish a composite garment unit in the Zone. China’s textile company would establish the plant with an investment o $60.85 million.in BEPZA Economic Zone.

As the name suggests, the Chinese investor produces lingerie. The plant can produce over 30 million lingerie items and fabric. Besides these, the plant would also have the facility to produce accessories, hangers, and foam. These products would only be consumed by the company itself for the export of its lingerie. The factory will create employment opportunities for 11000 Bangladeshi nationals.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the company by the director of Kaixi Lingerie Bangladesh while a representative of BEPZA signed on behalf of the authority. Xiao Hongxi, director of Kaixi Lingerie Bangladesh thanked BEPZA for the quick processing of the allotment of plots in BEPZA EZ.

The executive chairman of BEPZA Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman welcomed the new investor. He also congratulated Kaixi Lingerie for choosing BEPZA EZ for investment. The executive chairman said that BEPZA would live up to the tradition of providing all possible support and facilitations the investor would require in setting up the industry and starting operations. He urged the investing company to optimize the use of land for the factory. He also hoped that the rooftop of the factory would be used to produce solar energy.

BEPZA Executive Chairman urged upon the investors for the optimum uses of land during the construction of the factory. He also requested to keep such provisions in the factory building so that they can use its rooftop for producing renewable energy.
