While coronavirus has adversely affected almost all the clothing categories, making them witness plummeted sales, with the reopening of bricks-and-mortar stores, apparel retailers have realized that kidswear segment has shown great results.
Notably, kidswear collections have registered an overwhelming 50 to 70 per cent rise in the demand during the last 1 month.
As reported by TNN, some brands have even reported to have returned to the pre-coronavirus levels of sales.
Vishak Kumar, CEO, Madura Fashion and Lifestyle, shared that the company has seen the demand of kidswear collections go up by three times as compared to the pre-lockdown period.
For Benetton India also, kidswear is performing better than its other categories on offer.
Sandeep Chugh, CEO, Benetton India, informed while per day sales at their Panchkula store are equivalent to the pre-coronavirus phase, childrenswear has shown better results.
One of the key reasons contributing to higher demand for kidswear is child’s quick growth owing to which the old clothes don’t fit them anymore and parents have to buy new clothes.
