Lindauer DORNIER - Ready for the future
German Review
Start of training at Lindauer DORNIER GmbH.
Sixteen young people (industrial mechanics, mechatronics technicians, cutting
machine operators, construction mechanics, electricians for industrial engineering,
machine and plant operators and industrial clerks) began their training at DORNIER.
Two of them are studying technical subjects at the University of Cooperative
Education in Ravensburg.
Furthermore, four trainees from external companies of Lindau’s district receive their basic metal training in the
DORNIER training workshop.
The first days of training were all about getting to know each other. After visiting the Lindau and Esseratsweiler
plants and gaining an initial insight into the respective departments, the trainees were familiarised with
operational and training-specific processes. The aspect of teamwork was emphasised by practical exercises.
At DORNIER, professional training has a particularly high priority. The Lindau-based family business attaches
great importance to teaching trainees solution-oriented working methods that not only help them in their
professional lives, but also provide them with well-founded skills. The focus at DORNIER is on achieving the
training objectives combined with a team-oriented and practical approach to the apprenticeship period. The
high quality of training is reflected in regular regional and national awards for excellent performances.
Within the next 2 to 3.5 years, depending on their choice of profession and studies, Lindauer DORNIER will
accompany its trainees in an intensive training and promote their skills such as professional knowledge,
dexterity and commitment. “Only with well-trained and motivated employees will we be able to meet the future
challenges of the rapidly changing global markets” says Commercial Managing Director Franz-Peter Matheis.
