University to partner in promoting

DyStar Pakistan and National Textile University (NTU), Pakistan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) to take Sustainability to the next level for the textile industry. Faisal Mumtaz, Managing Director at DyStar
Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd, and Rector National Textile University, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, signed on behalf of DyStar
and NTU, respectively. This initiative will also be supported by subject matter experts, Amjad Hashmat Ali, Asifa
Ali from DyStar and Dr. Ahsan Nazir from NTU, among others, to discuss the mutual efforts for the betterment of
the industry. They will also be discussing the possibilities to accelerate research and development.
Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain highlighted that NTU has recently updated its infrastructure to support the R&D in the

Faisal Mumtaz said that DyStar is committed to embedding sustainability throughout the entire value chain of
Pakistan’s Textile sector. From pre-treatment to textile finishing, DyStar provides a diverse range of eco-friendly
solutions. This is possible because the company invested significantly in research and development and that
the company is continuously working on introducing more sustainable chemicals and products to expand its
environmental-friendly portfolio. As part of the collaboration, DyStar’s technical experts will also be offering their
expertise and technical help to NTU and its researchers.

Dr. Ahsan Nazir, Director of ORIC, said that various labs of NTU are now ISO accredited. He said that the focus
is on OEKO-TEX, ZDHC, and other certifications. He said that NTU is looking to get international accreditation
for the antimicrobial testing lab. He also said that NTU is already in liaison with the textile industries of Faisal-
abad, Lahore, and Karachi. The discussions include the following key considerations:
•NTU and DyStar Pakistan are committed to the success of this partnership to create a Sustainable future for
the Textile industry
•NTU shall provide the training to technical staff as per demand and requirements of the industry.
•NTU shall provide consultancy regarding managerial issues of the department and industry as a whole.
•DyStar Pakistan shall provide internship opportunities to undergraduate students of National Textile University
Fsd (Department of Management Sciences) as per our terms and conditions.
•DyStar Pakistan shall give job preference to the fresh graduate students of National Textile University Fsd
(Department of Management Sciences) as per our terms and conditions.

•NTU shall arrange interviews/Tests in the university's premises for the selection of fresh MTO's.
