ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award 2019

To recognize the collaborative efforts by the global textile industry to advance business sustainability through innovative solutions, and promote outstanding research related to the industry, the ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award was created by CEMATEX.

The award categories are as follows:
– Industry Excellence Award for textile and garment manufacturers
– Research and Innovation Excellence Award

ITMA 2015 Inaugural Awards Briefs
In 2015 ITMA Awards Levi Strauss & Co. of USA, received the ITMA Industry Excellence Award. Using the NoStone® garment washing technology from Tonello, an ITMA 2015 exhibitor, Levi Strauss & Co. took an important first step to solving an industry challenge in denim finishing – the use of pumice stones which have environmental, economic and mechanical disadvantages.

In the R&I Excellence Award – Masters Category, Jan Vincent Jordan from the Institut Für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University took the first prize with his thesis: ‘Development & Assembly of a Test Bench for the Analysis of Magnetic Weft Insertion’.

Industry Excellence Award
The award recognises textile and garment manufacturers who have leveraged on technological innovations to advance business sustainability that benefit people, planet and profit.

Guidelines
The nominees must be users of the exhibitor’s innovative product, process or project. The innovation must be within the scope of ITMA chapters.

The entry must be submitted by an ITMA 2019 exhibitor via the Exhibitor Centre by 15 March 2019.
The first entry is free; subsequent entries will be charged €200 plus applicable taxes.
No withdrawal or replacement is allowed after submission.
All entries will be reviewed by the judging panel. Finalists will be shortlisted and notified electronically.

Prizes
The winner will receive:
an ITMA 2019 Industry Excellence Award trophy and certificate

All finalists shall each receive:
an award certificate
two complimentary single hotel room nights
an ITMA 2019 visitor badge

Research & Innovation Excellence Award – Master’s
The Award recognizes outstanding achievements in textile and garment related post-graduate research.

Guidelines
-Open to Master’s degree students, in part or full-time education, of an exhibiting R&I organization.
The thesis must be authored by a masters’ degree student currently enrolled or have graduated within the last 18 months at the time of submission.
The entry must be submitted by the R&I exhibitor via the Exhibition Centre by 15 March 2019.
The first entry is free; subsequent entries for the same category will be charged €50 plus applicable taxes.
No withdrawal or replacement is allowed after submission.
All entries will be reviewed by the judging panel. Finalists will be notified electronically.

Prizes and Entitlements
The prizes are as follows:
The winner shall receive €10,000 cash and an award certificate
The first runner-up shall receive €5,000 cash and an award certificate
The second runner-up shall receive €3,000 cash and an award certificate

All finalists shall each receive:
two complimentary single hotel room nights
two ITMA 2019 Networking Reception invitations
an ITMA 2019 visitor badge
