Netherlands-based Knitwear Lab is organizing more basic and advanced courses on industrial knitwear.
The July course is already fully booked, but two new courses have been added to its program for August. Knitwear Lab is a research and knowledge hub specialized in innovative, sustainable, and design-driven knitwear solutions. Both the Basic and Advanced Courses will take place in the company’s Lab in Almere, near Amsterdam.
The Basic Course will take place from 9-13 August and the Advanced Course from 16-20 August. The curriculum primarily caters to knitwear professionals, students, and teachers interested in gaining extensive knowledge on designing, programming, and manufacturing knitwear.
The 5-day intensive program of the Basic Course introduces you to the M1plus pattern software and teaches you how to work with the Stoll ADF and CMS530 flatbed knitting machines, where the practice-oriented approach allows attendees to develop their first knitted swatches.
Particular focus will be placed on (sustainable) fibers and yarns, Adobe for knitters, and creating a Tech Pack to communicate in-depth with your programmer or designer.
The Advanced Course will continue the Basic course, with the 5-day program diving deeper into the subjects.
Additionally, attendees will be taught about fully fashioning and stitch designing on a more complex level.
BASIC Curriculum includes:
