German-based Lederer Elastic Yarns established in 1948 by Lederer will be celebrating its 75 years of operations this year.
Lederer produces elastic yarns that are used in fashionable legwear (hosiery /socks) to woven fabrics. These yarns are also used to make medical products, including the compression sector.
Spandex yarn is a man-made elastic fiber developed. It is a manufactured texture material with elastic properties of the sort referred to non-exclusively as “Elastic Yarn”. Spandex yarn is ordinarily used in athletic or dynamic dresses. The two fibers most widely used in making stretch yarns are nylon and polyester. Yarns that have lots of twists and are tightly plied tend to be more elastic and stretch-resistant than yarns that are lower twist or are more loosely plied.
Accurate determination of compression, by the company, was instrumental in increasing the hosiery market the world over. Lederer continued to enhance its capacities and capabilities during the past 75 years. Only recently it added eleven new covering machines that have opened possibilities for more yarn production for the medical sector. It will shorten the delivery time of medical yarn. Its 200 machines are supplying elastic yarn varieties to over 170 customers around the globe.
Some of Lederer’s competitors like Swisslastic also disposed of their machines that enabled the company to cope with ever-increasing demand from fashion and activewear.
