In collaboration with HBL, MG Apparel has launched the Cotton Farming Initiative that aims to preach sustainable farming practices, along with guidance through agronomists on yield improvement & it is returned to farmers in Balochistan while supporting inter-provincial harmony. This will uplift the community, improve livelihoods, and remove the need for third-party interventions as buyers can directly approach farmers for raw material.
Pakistan is the fifth-largest producer of cotton in the world. It also has the third-largest cotton spinning capacity in Asia (after China and India), with thousands of ginning and spinning units producing textile products from cotton. Today, Pakistan is the second-largest producer of Better Cotton globally. Currently, Pakistan is facing cotton shortage issues and higher yarn prices. These issues have increased the cost of production and reduced the profit margins. Therefore, there is a strong need to increase cotton production.

MG Apparel’s cotton initiative could be a helping hand to promote sustainable cotton production in Balochistan, which can ultimately lead to better crop yield.
MG Apparel is a premium quality apparel manufacturer operating on industry 4.0 guidelines. The company’s mission is to create an environment-conscious brand making a difference one green step at a time. Such initiatives should be encouraged at the government level to boost the company’s morale and set an example for others to follow for the betterment of Pakistan.
