New attachable XF3 filer to eliminate most of microplastic and poly cotton during washing

Xeros Technology the laundering technology company launching a new external filter that it claims will capture more than 99 percent of microplastics and 80 percent of polycotton microfibres released during a washing cycle.

The company claims that its new filter XF3 is an external version of the company’s patented XFilter product and is the highest-performing washing machine filtration device available on the market. The new filter can be attached to any washing machine model. The XF3 filter will be launched for consumers in 2024.

It is pertinent to mention that over half a million tonnes of microfibres are released each year from clothes washing. Synthetic textiles are the biggest source of primary microplastic pollution in oceans.

The company claims that XF3 enables its patented, high-performing microfibre filtration system, and it can be attached to any washing machine model. A spokesman of the company expects a significant increase in the market for accessory sales of washing machine microfibre devices in Europe in the next few years.

XF3 can be installed on a countertop or under a sink and is programmed to automatically start when the washing machine drains. An alert notifies users when it needs emptying. The new device will be debuted by Xeros in the Sustainability Village at IFA Berlin, taking place at Messe Berlin from the 1st to the 5th of September.
