ProWeave: A new jacquard weaving technology by Texon

ProWeave is a patented new jacquard weaving technology developed by Texon at its plant in Prato, Italy. With ProWeave, it possible to seamlessly integrate functional and design weaves into a single sheet of material. ProWeave can help manufacturers pinpoint the physical characteristics, active zones, and visual patterns they want to achieve performance fabric.

ProWeave can help different brands to bring new creative concepts to life. It is easy to create different elasticity, tenacity, and abrasion zones within the same weave, diverse yarn thicknesses, weights, and fabrics.

ProWeave fabrics are likely to prove popular in the fast-paced sports and outdoor sectors where woven footwear increases. The demand for innovative materials for garment manufacturing is continuous.

The primary areas where ProWeave could be used include:
• Luxury and branded footwear
• Clothing
• Industrial Textiles

Paul Jackson, business acceleration leader for ProWeave at Texon, said, “ProWeave takes the production of performance fabrics to the next level. Combining Texon’s know-how in branded footwear with our Italian division’s expertise in high-performance occupational and safety woven fabrics, this technology can help manufacturers differentiate their designs and unlock significant creative advantages. Using ProWeave, we can help manufacturers pinpoint the physical characteristics, functional zones, and visual patterns they want to achieve on a performance fabric and then make their vision a reality. ProWeave is radically different from anything else on the market, and we’ve been getting enthusiastic feedback from customers around the world. There is a real curiosity about a technology that can free designers from conventional fabric restraints.”

ProWeave is designed to support our industry’s sustainability drive. Using a single efficient process to create woven uppers with localized features means less energy consumption for manufacturers. We offer advice on using compatible fibers and recycled yarns to build recyclable structures for circular projects. All offcuts are suitable for recycling. Texon Group Zero Waste Programme supports ProWeave.

Zonal Concept: A novel innovation allowing designers to imagine, design, and develop zones with technical and aesthetic functionalities:
• Patented zonal single or multidirectional stretch, zonal functionality, and design patterns per upper.
• Specialty yarns, coated, monofilament, metallic, aramid, and recycled.
• A wide array of designs, thickness, color variations, and gradients, including ribs, waffle, 3D effects, mesh, transparency and stretch.
• Localized introduction of yarn with recuts replaces the need for reinforcements.
