In the current financial year during the last 11 months ready-made garments worth US$ 2.345 billion were exported as compared to exports of corresponding year worth US$ 2.075 billion.
Exports of ready-made garments increased by 13% during the period from July to May, 2017-18.
During the same period 38,195 thousand dozens of ready-made garments were exported compared to 31,584 thousand dozens of last year.
Meanwhile, US$ 2.480 billion were earned by knitwear exports of 98,783 thousand dozens against last years 93,644 thousand dozens worth US$ 2.106 billion. Bed wear exports of 338,377 metric tons showed an increase of 6.65% valued US$ 2.055 billion against 1.927 billion of previous year of 320,998 metric tons.
During the same period exports of towels increased by 1.66% as 189,793 metric tons of towels valued US$ 736.924 million were exported and last year 178,953 metric tons worth US$ 724.863 million were exported.
During the period under review textile industry exports witnessed an increase of 9.82% worth US$ 12.336 billion as compared to exports of US$ 11.232 billion last year.
