Santex Rimar Group proved its green ambitions

Santex Rimar Group presented its textile manufacturing machinery for weaving, textile finishing, technical textiles and green technologies for sludge drying processes at ITMA 2023. The Group united six brands with unique standings that were represented in Milan.

One of the Group’s brands is SMIT, a renowned producer of weaving machines.

Its flagship, the 2FAST High-Speed Weaving Machine is being exhibited featuring 2SAVE. This is the “world’s first and only weft tension control that saves selvedge at both left and right sides of the woven fabric, realising pick-by-pick sustainability through fabric waste reduction,” the company said.

In practice, 2SAVE saves between 50-80 mm of yarn at each pick.

The eco exhibits
Sperotto Rimar, Santex, Cavitec, Isotex and Solwa were represented on a 400 sqm booth in the middle of Hall 18. One highlight on the booth was the Isotex coating machine that guarantees high precision results, which goes hand in hand with waste reduction and environmental friendliness, according to the Group.

The great flexibility of Isotex machines allows for experimenting and/or using sustainable compounds, the company said.

Also, Santashrink, the tensionless shrinking and relax drying machine for tubular and open-width knitted fabrics, was also displayed.

Meanwhile, Solwa focuses on producing green innovative technologies for water treatment and drying processes.

Its pride is Drywa, a low-temperature belt dryer equipped with a CO₂ heat pump developed to make sludge management efficient and cost-effective, respecting the environment and climate, the company said.

The Cavimelt Pro multi-functional coating machine by Cavitec was presented for the first time at ITMA.

The company said: “The two-in-one machine featuring rapid switching between rotogravure and full-surface coating will amaze the visitors as its technology, based on hotmelt adhesive application, delivers bonding performance which meets the highest expectations for quality.”
