Specialty fabrics and advanced textiles expo 2014

The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) announces its international trade event, Specialty Fabrics Expo 2014 and Advanced Textiles Expo, will include a first-ever extreme sports display at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Oct. 14-16, 2014. The display will highlight specialty and technical fabrics and how they contribute to the extreme sports industry. “The purpose of the display is to show-off some of the unique products that our industry creates,” said Barbara Connett, Education & Events Manager.

The extreme sports display will include items featuring specialty and advanced textiles that were worn by Olympic skiers and snowboarders, as well as scuba diving and mountain climbing gear, motorcycle fabrics, and inflatable kayaks and paddle boards. A specialized heat-activated cooling vest that gently and safely cools its wearer will also be on display. The vest is able to recharge itself and its cooling effects last for hours.
“Perhaps one of the coolest things on display will be the Squirrel wingsuit, which lets its user jump and glide like a flying squirrel,” said Connett. “Items like the wingsuit are exciting and sure to inspire attendees to look beyond their day-to-day work and imagine the possibilities.

The next premier textile event will take place in Anaheim, Calif.
The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) announces its leading trade event, the 2015 Specialty Fabrics Expo and Advanced Textiles Expo, will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif., Oct 6-9, 2015.

A global industry of textile companies will come together at the largest display of specialty fabrics and technical textiles in the Americas. Buyers flock to companies showcasing an astonishing array of fabrics, fiber, films, chemicals, end products, components, equipment and technology services at one massive tradeshow event.
While the Specialty Fabrics show will continue on its success of meeting traditional fabric market needs, the Advanced Textiles Expo side of the show continues to build, meeting the needs of roll goods suppliers, materials and other products and services for advanced applications.

New in 2015 will be the introduction of Shade Expo, a stand-alone event with a concentrated focus on all things sun protection. IFAI intends to grow the shade industry through this event, attracting new participants to the show floor, including: architects, pool and deck contractors, landscape architects, parks and recreation officials, and other demographics interested in shade protection.
The show will also feature comprehensive programming with professional business sessions, outstanding networking events, keynote speakers and CEU credits for architects. The 2015 show also features the fourth annual ShowStoppers awards competition, displaying innovative products and services, and the International Achievement Awards.
