As per the Company’s sustainability goals, ICI Pakistan Limited is launching an innovative offering within its polyester fiber portfolio. These products help companies contribute to the reduction of plastic waste in Pakistan.
By recycling discarded PET bottles and turning them into value-added polyester fibers. To raise awareness in future generations about PET waste recycling and the benefits of proper recycling, ICI Pakistan Limited has partnered with WWF Pakistan to support the national Spellathon campaign.
ICI Pakistan Limited has recycled over 250 million PET bottles through Terylene Clean as a responsible initiative. The Company also expanded its polyester production capacity by opening a PET processing plant at the Sheikhupur plant. The plant, expected to commence CoD in 2022, will allow the Company to produce 100% recycled PET chips to produce recycled polyester fibers.

With this new setup, the Company will be able to process over 3.3 billion PET bottles over the next three years and meet the growing needs of the Pakistani textile industry in line with its customers’ global sustainability agenda. Earlier, ICI Pakistan Limited launched eco-friendly products such as “Terylene Clean” and “Terylene Powered by CiCLO” to reduce the environmental impact of plastic and microfiber pollution. Terylene Clean (certified by the Global Recycling Standard) is made from 100% recycled PET bottles. It helps the textile recycling sector convert all production to recycled fibers, offering customers high-quality end products.
